All staff employed, Contractors and volunteers arranged by Hay Inc are responsible for the care, safety and protection of children. This responsibility extends to the identification and timely response to concerns regarding the possible sexual, physical, psychological and emotional abuse or neglect of a child.

Neglect

The intentional failure by parents/carers to provide, arrange, or allow the provision of, adequate care, effective medical, therapeutic or remedial treatment. It includes abandonment, failing to provide adequate food or shelter and/or care, nurturance or supervision to a severe and/or persistent extent.
